In the secret garden holland has again made a film about a missing child, but this time her theme and her telling of it are in complete harmony. The 1993 version of the secret garden is as close to perfect as a family film will get, and it's also a superb adaptation of the novel, and this, whilst isn't horrible by any stretch, just really misses the mark. The secret garden is beautiful and i always thought it was so underrated compared to a little princess.
Although, late in the film, she does show remorse for her behaviour, and it is obvious that she thinks she's doing.
